Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist physicians and clinicians in an outpatient setting. You will check in patients, collect vital signs, reconcile medications and document medical history to support efficient patient flow.

The role requires basic computer skills and BLS within 90 days of hire, with orientation and on-the-job training provided. Prior EPIC familiarity is a plus, and commitment to respectful communication is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic Life Support and other training within 90 days of hire.
• Experience with outpatient clinic or healthcare setting is preferred.

Job description

Summary Job Description: The Patient Care Technician will be responsible for the examination and treatment of patients under the direct supervision of the physician or advanced practice clinician.

Duties include but not limited to the following:

• check in patients, obtaining vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, pulse oximetry, temperature) and medication reconciliation, patient medical history information, expediting patient flow, rooming patients, stocking clinic with supplies, navigating electronic health record system (EPIC), and performing other non-clinical duties as needed.

The PCT will communicate in a respectful manner and will uphold Baptist's mission and core values that drive service excellence.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating within databases containing highly confidential information.
• Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate, within 90 days of hire.
• Upon hire these disciplines will be required to attend orientation| externship and additional training as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Patient Care Technician experience.
• Experience in an outpatient clinic, physician practice, or healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with EPIC or other electronic medical record systems.
• Experience obtaining vital signs and documenting patient information.
