Job summary

UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh seeks a Patient Care Technician to support nursing teams with daily patient care, ADLs and therapies. You will work under RN supervision, providing essential care and reporting changes in patient status, with duties covering blood glucose, vital signs, I&O, specimen collection, and Foley care.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform nursing assistant duties including ADLs, vital signs, I&O and specimen collection.
• Ability to support physical, respiratory and cardiopulmonary therapies as part of patient care.
• Strong communication with RN and ability to report changes in patient status promptly.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care including assisting with patient procedures and activities of daily living.
• Assist with physical, respiratory, and cardiopulmonary therapies and provide feedback to the RN.
• Perform nursing core duties (blood glucose, weights, vital signs, I&O, specimen collections, Foley care).
• May apply simple dressings, bladder scans, catheter removals, and monitor telemetry as needed.
• Adhere to competencies and support care for patients across units with high autonomy.
