Job summary

Norwalk Hospital Association is seeking a patient care assistant to support licensed staff with patient care activities on the unit. You will perform basic nursing duties, help with daily care, and ensure patient comfort and safety in a fast-paced hospital environment.

High School Diploma or equivalent is required, and active CNA certification is preferred. BLS/CPR must be obtained within 90 days of start or during orientation, with a focus on teamwork and compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS/CPR certification within 90 days of start or upon orientation completion.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and assist with unit tasks under supervision.
• Perform basic nursing duties including POC testing and maintaining patient safety.
• Follow orders and policies, ensure comfort and respond quickly to patient needs.
• Document patient information accurately in the computer system.
• Communicate patient status and observations to the nurse in charge.
