Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Performs a rapid appraisal of a patient's immediate stability and responds as necessary to ensure well‑being.
• Transports patients to other departments on monitors, as appropriate and requested.
• Assists RNs and Physicians with physical exams, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including EKG testing, wound cleansing, vital sign measurements, monitor leads, specimen collection, and transports stable telemetry or non-monitored patients to nursing units.
• Documents all care/procedures provided.
• Recognizes work priorities and responds accordingly, anticipating department needs.
• After training, performs blood glucose testing; phlebotomy; saline lock insertion; IV discontinuation; bladder catheterization and removal.
• Monitors supply stock levels and reports needs; coordinates with EVS, maintenance, BME, and others to ensure proper equipment and a safe environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support department and organization.
