Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan is seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant for the Nights shift in Emergency Services-Cheboygan. Under RN supervision, you contribute to patient-centered care through day-to-day tasks and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, ensuring HIPAA/OSHA compliance, and supporting patients and families with compassion. Schedule: 7pm-7:30am; Full-time.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire (AHA/ARC or Canadian equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care interventions as delegated by the RN to meet treatment goals.

Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, contributes to the delivery of patient-centered care through: Performance of selected day-to-day patient care activities. Maintenance of an environment that is functionally and aesthetically conducive to patient well-being. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Interacts with patients considering their developmental, age-specific, and cultural spiritual preferences.

Responsibilities:

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
• Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
• Performs other related job duties as requested.

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent .
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire. Certification must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent.

Preferred:

• Prior experience in direct care preferred.
• CENA training
• Prior experience obtained through clinical nursing rotation relevant to the specific work area.
