Job summary

McLaren in Petoskey, MI seeks a Night Shift ICU Patient Care Aide to support bedside care and maintain a safe, patient-centered environment within the Intensive Care Unit. Under RN supervision, you will perform essential daily care tasks and document appropriately.

You will assist with mobility, hygiene, meals, and comfort while respecting developmental, age-specific, and cultural needs, and you will adhere to HIPAA/OSHA guidelines. Healthcare benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire (AHA/ARC/Canadian).

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care interventions delegated by the RN to meet treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support to patients and families.
• Assists with daily activities and personal hygiene (bathing, feeding, dressing, mobility).
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA, OSHA and health care regulations.
• Maintains a safe, clean environment and follows infection-control policies.
• Performs other related duties as requested.

Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, contributes to the delivery of patient-centered care through: Performance of selected day-to-day patient care activities. Maintenance of an environment that is functionally and aesthetically conducive to patient well-being. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Interacts with patients considering their developmental, age-specific, and cultural spiritual preferences.

Responsibilities:

1. Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
2. Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
3. Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
4. Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
5. Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
6. Performs other related job duties as requested.

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent .
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire. Certification must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent.

Preferred:

• Prior experience in direct care preferred.

• CENA training

• Prior experience obtained through clinical nursing rotation relevant to the specific work area.
