Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a qualified Nursing Assistant to support patient care under the direct supervision of a nurse in Emergency Services. You will perform day-to-day patient care activities and help maintain an environment conducive to well-being.

The role requires a high school diploma, BLS certification within 30 days, and adherence to HIPAA/OSHA. Shifts are days, 7:00am-7:00pm, with bi-weekly hours totaling 72.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire. Certification must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
• Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
• Performs other related job duties as requested.

Position Summary:

Maintenance of an environment that is functionally and aesthetically conducive to patient well-being. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Interacts with patients considering their developmental, age-specific, and cultural spiritual preferences.
