HCA Healthcare's Mission Hospital McDowell in Marion, NC is hiring a Patient Care Technician in the Emergency Department. The PCT provides delegated basic patient care under an RN, supporting safety, comfort, and efficient flow.

Responsibilities include assisting with mobility, dressing changes, keeping areas clean, managing supplies, and communicating with patients and families. Qualified candidates will be a NC CNA and obtain BLS within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in North Carolina.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Demonstrates patient-centered care and compassionate communication.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN), the PCT assists the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the PCT’s skills/training and the needs of the Department and consistently assists the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment. The PCT complies with all hospital policies/procedures and observes the State Board of Nursing rules for unlicensed personnel.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery

• Providing non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices

• Keeping patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency

• Managing supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness

• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

• (CNA) Certified Nursing Assistant in North Carolina
