Job summary

Virtua Health in South Jersey is seeking compassionate patient care support professionals to assist with activities of daily living and to work closely with the healthcare team. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse or LPN, you will help with vital signs, mobility, hygiene, and basic care; the role may include phlebotomy and EKGs in Emergency Department positions.

Required are a High School Diploma or GED with PCT/RN fundamentals or CNA training, and BLS certification; the position is

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completed PCT, RN fundamentals or CNA program, or 1 year direct patient care.
• BLS certification.
• Phlebotomy training/education required for Emergency Department positions.
• Strong communication and basic patient care skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, and mobility.
• Take vital signs, point-of-care testing, bladder scanning, and Foley care; may perform phlebotomy and EKGs in ED.
• Reinforce education for patient and family on care needs and safety.
• Support Virtua patient satisfaction goals and participate in performance improvement.
• Assist in orientation of new hires.
