Baystate Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join the Discharge Unit at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. The role provides patient care to diverse adult populations, assists with monitoring, and supports nurses and physicians in daily care activities.

The position is part-time, day shift (10am-3:00pm) Tuesday–Friday, 5-hour shifts, 20 hours per week, with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualificações

• Non-Graduate (Required) for education.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide safe, age-appropriate patient care and monitor vital signs.
• Assist with procedures including dressing changes, EKGs, and Point-of-Care testing.
• Support nurses and providers with examinations and other delegated patient care activities.

Baystate Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT)to join ourDischarge UnitatBaystate Medical CenterinSpringfield, Massachusetts. Our Discharge Unit team provides care to a diverse adult patient population, working closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, compassionate, high-quality care.

• Patient Care & Monitoring: Provides safe, age-appropriate care; obtains and documents vital signs, measurements, intake/output, and changes in patient condition; promptly reports concerns to the appropriate clinical team member.
• Clinical Procedures & Testing: Performs approved treatments and procedures, including dressing changes, specimen collection, EKGs, Point-of-Care testing, and other unit-specific clinical functions in accordance with Baystate Health policies.
• Treatment & Provider Support: Assists nurses and providers with examinations, treatments, procedures, elimination needs, and other delegated patient care activities; monitors patients and reports unexpected changes.
• Communication & Teamwork: Communicates respectfully and effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team; recognizes culturally based needs and supports both clinical and non-clinical team activities.
• Patient Safety & Emergency Response: Maintains patient safety, initiates appropriate emergency procedures, provides one-to-one patient observation when required, and maintains required clinical competencies.

Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
