Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care on an inpatient unit under RN supervision. You will assist with activities of daily living, take vital signs, document in the electronic medical record, and help ensure patient comfort and safety.

You will participate in admissions, discharges, and transfers, maintain the patient environment, and adhere to hospital policies. CPR and background clearances will be required by policy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to attend 2 weeks of training.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides and documents direct patient care and activities of daily living.
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives.
• Accurately documents vital signs, intake/output, and treatments.
• Assists with admissions, discharges and transfers on the unit.
• Maintains a clean, safe patient environment and follows policies.
