Endeavor Health in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a Patient Care Technician -CV- Days to support RN staff and deliver essential patient care. The role provides care, comfort, and safety to patients and contributes to a well-functioning hospital unit.

Eligible candidates should have CPR certification and nursing assistant training or six months of patient care experience, with potential to complete a care Companion Course within six months if required.

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of prior patient care experience or completion of one nursing clinical rotation.
• Successful completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire when course is required by the department.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care tasks under the directions of a Registered Nurse and according to established procedures.
• Maintain patient comfort and safety and support nursing staff to ensure smooth unit operations.

Hourly Pay Range:

$19.71 - $28.58 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position : Patient Care Technician -CV- Days
• Location : Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus - 155 E. Brush Hill Rd., Elmhurst, IL 60126
• Full Time : 36 hours per week
• Hours : 7am-7:30pm (4-5 weekends in a 6 week period) and rotating holiday track
• Call: If census is low and not needed in other areas
• Required Travel : no
• Float: Could float to any inpatient unit including PCCU

What you will do:

The Patient Care Tech, under the directions of a Registered Nurse (RN) and, according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients.

What you will need:

• Education: N/A
• Certification: Current CPR Certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience: Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation
• Successful completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire when course is required by the department.
• Unique or Preferred Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions.
