Job summary

Gadsden Regional Medical Center in Alabama is seeking a Patient Care Technician - Step Down Days. The PCT delivers high-quality, patient-centered care by assisting with activities of daily living under RN/LPN supervision. Responsibilities include collecting data and reporting findings to the care team, while ensuring a safe and organized environment.

A 0-2 year acute care background is preferred; BCLS within 90 days of hire is required or preferred. CNA or CPCT certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in a Nursing program preferred.
• BCLS certification within 90 days of hire required or preferred.
• CPCT/CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with delegated basic care and maintain a safe, organized environment.
• Collect and report vital signs and daily data to the RN/LPN.
• Assist patients with meals, bathing, grooming, and hygiene.
• Assist with patient positioning, mobility, and use of walkers or wheelchairs.
• Document urine, stool samples and glucose monitoring results per protocol.
• Maintain infection control standards and proper PPE usage.
