Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida, Inc. seeks a Nursing Assistant to prepare units and patient rooms for admissions, transfers, and post-operative patients. The role emphasizes proper body mechanics, infection prevention, and timely reporting to LPN/RN.

You will assist with admissions, transport, and discharges, take vital signs, and conduct regular rounds, while ensuring patient comfort and hygiene. Certification in Florida and CPR are required; experience preferred.

Qualifications

• License/Registration/Certification State of Florida Nursing Assistant Certification preferred; CPR Certification required.
• If in cost center NURSING- 6 DE HMT SOUTH, PCT is required to obtain Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate within 90 days of employment.
• Education High School Diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparation of the unit and patient rooms for admissions, transfers, and post-operative patients.
• Uses proper body mechanics when positioning, lifting, turning and ambulating patients.
• Applies and uses appropriate equipment as needed.
• Understands and implements measures used to reduce infection risk.
• Reports any changes observed in the patient's condition to the LPN/RN promptly.
• Assists with admission, transport, transfer and discharge of patients, including care of personal property.
• Accurately takes vital signs and records in patient records promptly.
• Makes frequent patient rounds at least every two hours.
• Provides basic personal and oral hygiene care and catheter care as needed.
• Assists RN with post-mortem care and securing valuables.
