Job summary

Tennova Turkey Creek Medical Center in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide patient-centered care under RN/LPN supervision. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and help maintain a safe, organized care environment.

The role requires basic patient care knowledge, strong communication, and teamwork. CNA or CPCT preferred; BCLS within 90 days of hire. This is a full-time, day-shift position at our Parkside Dr location.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years in an acute care setting or nursing student in progress.
• Basic knowledge of patient care practices and equipment.
• BCLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• CPCT or CNA preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with delegated basic patient care and maintain a safe, organized environment.
• Record vital signs, height, weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, intake/output, and calorie counts; report findings to RN/LPN.
• Assist with meals, feeding, bathing, grooming, linen changes, skin care, elimination assistance, and use of mobility aids.
• Position patients, assist with ambulation, and use mobility devices as needed.
• Collect urine/stool samples and perform glucose monitoring; document results for RN/LPN.
• Communicate patient information effectively to the care team and adhere to safety protocols.
• Maintain infection control and PPE protocols and participate in safety initiatives.
• May perform continuous observation as required and attend to assigned duties.
