Job summary

Palmetto-General-Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Tech to assist with patient treatment and care under supervision. Responsibilities include supporting nursing staff and performing basic nursing tasks necessary for patient ADLs in a dynamic hospital setting.

Qualified candidates may have a high school diploma or equivalent, with at least six months of hospital PCT experience or relevant certifications (EKG, Phlebotomy, CMA).

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of six months experience as a Patient Care Tech in a hospital setting.
• EKG, Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant Certification.
• Foreign Nurse/Physician with appropriate documentation.
• Nursing Student that completed 1st year of Nursing School.
• Requires a thorough knowledge of basic nursing functions to meet patient needs for ADL's; must be able to work rapidly under stressful situations with many interruptions.
• Required BLS certification from the American Red Cross.
• Must clear background and drug test required.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision, and/or direction of the Nursing Director / Clinical Manager, Resource Nurse, or Staff Nurse, performs various duties in the treatment and care of patients in accordance with established functions and procedures of the hospital.
