Job summary

McLaren is seeking a patient care professional for the Cardiac Step Down unit. You will work under RN supervision to perform day-to-day patient care activities, maintain a safe and welcoming environment, and uphold unit competencies while respecting patient developmental and cultural needs.

The role emphasizes compassionate support for patients and families, assisting with activities of daily living, and adherence to HIPAA/OSHA regulations. Schedule is full-time with weekends required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of job-related experience and/or training.
• BLS certification from AHA, ARC, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN to identify/attain treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for daily activities and personal hygiene (bath, shower, feeding, dressing, mobility).
• Ensures compliance with health care regulations including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe and clean environment and follows infection-control policies.
• Performs other related duties as requested.

Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, contributes to the delivery of patient-centered care through: Performance of selected day-to-day patient care activities. Maintenance of an environment that is functionally and aesthetically conducive to patient well-being. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Interacts with patients considering their developmental, age-specific, and cultural spiritual preferences.

Responsibilities:

1. Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
2. Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
3. Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
4. Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
5. Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
6. Performs other related job duties as requested.

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Six (6) month of job-related experience and/or training.

• BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent
