Job summary

Ascension Health in Nashville, TN, is seeking a dedicated Nurse Aide for the Cardiac Stepdown unit. This full-time role offers night shifts and collaborates with a skilled nursing team to support patient movement, daily living activities, and accurate documentation of patient status.

Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma equivalency or one year of relevant experience, and must obtain a BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 1 month (30 days) of hire date, acceptable from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Nurse Aide preferred as an added qualification.
• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable job-specific experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with movement and placement of patients.
• Help patients with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Report changes in physical, mental and emotional condition to nursing staff and document necessary records.
• Keep patient rooms clean, orderly and maintain medical equipment.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Nurse Aide preferred.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
