Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a Per Diem Nursing Assistant to support patient care in the Behavioral Health Unit. Under RN supervision, you will perform selected day-to-day care activities and help maintain a safe, compassionate environment.

You will assist with daily living activities, hygiene, and mobility while ensuring HIPAA and OSHA compliance. The role requires flexibility with shifts and weekend availability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire (AHA/ARC/Canadian equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
• Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
• Performs other related job duties as requested.

Required

• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire. Certification must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent.

Preferred

• Prior experience in direct care preferred.
• CENA training
• Prior experience obtained through clinical nursing rotation relevant to the specific work area.
