Job Title: Patient Care Tech
Reports To: Clinic Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Greets and rooms patients including taking all vitals such as ht, wt, temp, pulse, respiratory, and/or pulse oximetry.*
2. Completes intake of patients in the room including reviewing med hx, social hx, medication lists and chief complaint.*
3. Anticipates if the Practitioners needs any other tests run including Hgb Mc, Quick Strep, Rapid Flu, Urine Dip, and pregnancy test.*
4. Conducts call backs as directed by Practitioners including getting lab results, prescription refills, tickler files, re-scheduling and general messages.*
5. Responsible for injections, phlebotomy, setting up and assisting with procedures, nebulizers, and EKGs.*
6. Conducts Occupational Medicine testing including Department of Transportation physicals and Pre-Employment Exams.
7. Opens, closes, cleans, and stocks exam rooms. Autoclaves instruments.*
8. Answers phones, checks in/checks out patients, checks insurance eligibility, accepts Time of Service Payments, and processes referrals when needed.*
9. Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards; facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements.*
10. Participates in required city, state, and regulatory training and meetings as assigned by the employer.*
11. Performs any other duties that assist in the operations of the office.*
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Specialized Training:
Medical Assistant Certificate/License or higher
Certificates and Licenses:
Medical Assistant Certificate/License or higher
Basic Life Support (CPR & AED) certification
