Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a Regular, full-time CNA to work the 2PM-10:30PM shift on weekdays, with one holiday per year. You will provide routine patient care, assist with ambulation, feeding, and hygiene, document in the computer system, and respond to call lights while coordinating with nurses.

Ideal candidates are CNAs with a high school diploma or GED, able to work the stated hours, and committed to compassionate patient support within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• CNA certification or licensing is required.
• Ability to perform essential patient care tasks with supervision.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, direct patient care including ambulation, bathing, positioning and feeding.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and coordinate with care team.
• Assist with transfers, measurements and specimen transport as needed.
• Greet patients and family members, relay messages and support staff as directed.
• Support clerical tasks and maintain patient rooms and charts.
• Coordinate outpatient and inpatient appointments as directed.
• Assist with supplies, requisitions and equipment maintenance.
• Refer to Chaplain, social services, or pastoral care as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold CARE standards.
