Job summary

Avera Milbank Area Hospital is hiring a Certified Nurse Aide to provide routine patient care on rotating days/evenings/nights and weekends. You will assist with ambulation, feeding, hygiene, and care coordination under nursing supervision in a multidisciplinary team.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED and CNA certification. The role emphasizes compassionate care, teamwork, and adherence to safety and care standards at Avera facilities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and team members.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient care: ambulating, bathing, positioning, feeding and monitoring as directed by nurse or physician.
• Greet patients and visitors, answer inquiries, relay messages and assist with department errands.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, intake/output measurements and specimen collection as needed.
• Answer calls, operate paging system, and coordinate with departments during emergencies.
• Coordinate appointments for diagnostics and outpatient services as directed.
• Request and track supplies and equipment, and complete related forms.
• Coordinate with chaplain, social services, and pastoral care as directed.
• Perform clerical tasks related to admissions, discharges and chart preparation.
