Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a patient care assistant to provide basic patient support under nursing supervision in a hospital setting. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, feeding patients, taking vital signs, and supporting nursing staff with procedures and wound care.

Multiple shifts are available and this is a full-time on-site position. A High School Diploma is preferred, with BLS certification required and prior hospital experience a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily living activities (eating, bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility).
• Feed patients and record food and liquid intake.
• Monitor and report vital signs and changes to nursing staff; assist with procedures and wound care.

Responsibilities:

• Answering patient calls and helping patients with eating, bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
• Feeding patients, measuring and recording their food and liquid intake.
• Monitoring and documenting patients' temperature, blood pressure, and other vital signs and reporting changes to nurses or doctors.
• Assisting nurses or doctors with medical procedures and dressing wounds.

Job Requirements:

Education/Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience

• Experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• BLS required.
