Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Longview, Texas, is seeking a compassionate healthcare assistant to provide basic patient care under nursing supervision. You will help with daily activities, monitor vitals, and support nurses during procedures to ensure patient safety and comfort.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred), hospital experience, and BLS certification. This is a full-time, 12-hour shift position with opportunities to grow within a patient-centered hospital system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• BLS required or achieved within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Answer patient calls and assist with eating, bathing, dressing, grooming and mobility.
• Monitor and document temperature, blood pressure and other vital signs; report changes to nurses/doctors.
• Assist nurses/doctors with procedures and wound dressings.

Responsibilities

• Answering patient calls and helping patients with eating, bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.


• Feeding patients, measuring and recording their food and liquid intake.


• Monitoring and documenting patients' temperature, blood pressure, and other vital signs and reporting changes to nurses or doctors.


• Assisting nurses or doctors with medical procedures and dressing wounds.

Education/Skills

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience

• Experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• BLS required.
