Job summary

Laredo Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care under the supervision of an RN or LPN. You will assist with activities of daily living, help maintain a safe and organized care environment, and ensure clear communication within the healthcare team.

Responsibilities include recording vitals, assisting with meals and hygiene, helping with mobility, collecting samples, and following infection control protocols.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in a Nursing program preferred.
• Basic knowledge of patient care practices and equipment.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with basic patient care and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Record vital signs, intake/output, and report findings to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Support patients with meals, bathing, grooming, linen changes, and mobility.
• Assist with positioning, ambulation, and use of mobility aids.
• Collect urine/stool samples and monitor blood glucose per protocol.
• Communicate patient information effectively to the care team and adhere to PPE guidelines.
