Tennova Healthcare- LaFollette Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nursing staff by assisting with activities of daily living, vital signs, and patient mobility. The ideal candidate has 0-2 years in acute care or is enrolled in a Nursing program, with BCLS within 90 days of hire and CNA or CPCT certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in a Nursing program preferred
• BCLS - Basic Life Support certification required within 90 days of hire
• CNA certification preferred or CPCT certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in delivering care and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Record vital signs and patient data and report to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Assist with meals, bathing, grooming, linen changes, and catheter care.
• Assist with positioning, mobility, and use of walkers or wheelchairs.
• Collect urine/stool samples and monitor blood glucose; document results.
• Communicate patient information to the care team and maintain professionalism.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and proper PPE usage.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and risk management.
• Maintain regular attendance and comply with policies and standards.
