Job Description: Facilitates and assists in meeting the needs of the patient within responsibilities delegated by the Registered Nurse (RN). Follows the direction of RNs, Lead/Charge Nurse, Nursing Director/Assistant Nursing Director, and House Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School graduate or GED equivalent.
• Must attend and complete the UTMC Healthcare Tech training course and maintain CPR/BLS certification, unless qualified through other criteria listed below.

Required:

• Current CPR/BLS certification AND one of the following: active CNA or STNA certification, recent graduate of an accredited nursing program, or successful passing of Skill Assessment if experienced.
• Ability to write legibly, speak articulately, follow directions, and work under supervision.
• Willingness to work some weekends and holidays; may rotate shifts and units.
• Physical requirements include visual acuity, hearing, manual dexterity, ability to lift 50 pounds, and perform CPR.
