Job summary

Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in South Carolina is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant who will provide direct and indirect patient care under supervision. You will assist with activities of daily living, comfort, and safety, while maintaining patient dignity and confidentiality.

This entry-level role requires a current CNA certificate, CPR certification, and being enrolled in high school or equivalent.

Qualifications

  • Education: Currently enrolled in high school or equivalent
  • CNA certificate and CPR certification required; clerical experience desirable

Responsibilities

  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, continuous quality improvement program, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Performs basic nursing procedures, including collection of lab specimens, thermal applications, application of simple dressing, and perineal care.
  • Obtains and documents patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, weight, respiration, pulse, intake and output.
  • Assist in admission, transfer, and dismissal procedures of the patient.
  • Provides personal care assistance to patients, including bathing, dressing, eating, bed pans, transportation, skin care, oral care and positioning.
  • Keeps the patient’s room straightened and clean.
  • Maintains patient documentation as outlined by hospital policy.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all patient data. Use complete discretion when discussing patient information.
  • Maintains patient records and charts to ensure an accurate record of medical treatment.
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to patient comfort and privacy and maintains professionalism.
  • Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings as required.
  • Orders supplies for nursing floor and ER units as needed from central supply.
  • Follows all hospital infection prevention policies, including proper hand hygiene, use of PPE, and ensures patient care equipment is cleaned, disinfected, and stored appropriately after each use.
  • Monitors and restocks patient care areas with necessary supplies.

Departments and the Medical Staff.

JOB SUMMARY:
