Job summary

Nemaha Valley Community Hospital - Official is seeking a CNA-in-training to provide direct and indirect patient care under supervision. You will assist patients with daily activities, personal care, comfort, and essential tasks in a hospital setting.

The position requires enrollment in high school or an equivalent program, CNA certification in the state, CPR certification, and basic computer/clerical skills.

Qualifications

  • Education: Currently enrolled in high school or equivalent.
  • Req. Cert./ Current CNA certificate in the state where employed, CPR certified.
  • Computer and clerical experience desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, continuous quality improvement program, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Performs basic nursing procedures, including collection of lab specimens, thermal applications, application of simple dressing, and perineal care.
  • Obtains and documents patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, weight, respiration, pulse, intake and output.
  • Assist in admission, transfer, and dismissal procedures of the patient.
  • Provides personal care assistance to patients, including bathing, dressing, eating, bed pans, transportation, skin care, oral care and positioning.
  • Keeps the patient’s room straightened and clean.
  • Maintains patient documentation as outlined by hospital policy.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all patient data. Use complete discretion when discussing patient information.
  • Maintains patient records and charts to ensure an accurate record of medical treatment.
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to patient comfort and privacy and maintains professionalism.
  • Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings as required.
  • Orders supplies for nursing floor and ER units as needed from central supply.
  • Follows all hospital infection prevention policies, including proper hand hygiene, use of PPE, and ensures patient care equipment is cleaned, disinfected, and stored appropriately after each use.
  • Monitors and restocks patient care areas with necessary supplies.

JOB SUMMARY:
