Job summary

Are you ready to join Dignity Health at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott, AZ as a Patient Care Tech? You will support patients with daily living activities and monitor comfort to help them feel safe and cared for during their hospital stay.

You will perform hourly rounds, check vitals, and collaborate with the nursing team to implement care plans while remaining observant to changes in condition and promoting a proactive workflow. BLS and CNA/EMT pathways qualify you for this role.

Qualifications

• Nursing Assistant training or EMT program, or first block of nursing program, or 2 years NA experience in acute care.
• Basic life support certification is required.
• Ability to monitor vitals and assist with daily living activities as part of a care team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hourly rounds on 8–10 patients, check vitals, update whiteboard data, assist with care as needed.
• Collaborate with RN to implement the care plan.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living per standards of care and hospital protocol.
• Report significant changes in patient condition.
• Assist with admission, discharge and transfer of patients.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Patient Care Tech, you will help our patients navigate their hospital stay by assisting them with basic activities of daily living and closely monitoring their physical comfort so they can feel safer, more comfortable, and supported throughout their healing journey. Every day you will diligently manage essential patient care tasks, which includes checking vital signs and changing bed linens. You will be expected to remain highly observant of changes in a patient's condition, maintain a proactive workflow, and collaborate closely with the nursing team to ensure high-quality care. To be successful in this role, you must possess a genuine desire to help others feel better, accept feedback and coaching well, and demonstrate a strong eagerness to continuously learn and grow as a care provider.

• Conduct hourly rounds on approximately 8 to 10 patients, checking vitals, maintaining whiteboard information, and assisting with care as needed
• Collaborates with RN in implementation of plan
• Assists patients with activities of daily living according to standards of care and hospital protocol
• Reports significant observed or reported alterations in the patient condition
• Assists with patient admission, discharge and transfer

Job Requirements

• Documentation of successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training program or EMT program, or completion of first block of nursing program or Two (2) years experience as an NA in an acute care hospital setting
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certificate
• AZ CNA License or Emergency Medical Technician: AZ (EMT:AZ)
