Job summary

Dignity Health – Yavapai Regional Medical Center (DH-YRMC), now a proud part of CommonSpirit Health, is seeking a Patient Care Tech to assist patients with daily living activities, monitor comfort, and support the nursing team in delivering high-quality care.

You will perform hourly rounds, check vitals, and help manage patient flow from admission to discharge while staying committed to learning and growing as a care provider.

Qualifications

  • Must have completed a Nursing Assistant training program or EMT program, or be in the first block of a nursing program or have 2 years' NA experience in acute care.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certificate.
  • AZ CNA License or Emergency Medical Technician: AZ (EMT:AZ) license.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct hourly rounds on approximately 8–10 patients, check vitals and assist with care as needed.
  • Collaborate with RN in implementation of plan.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living according to standards of care.
  • Report significant observed or reported alterations in patient condition.
  • Assist with patient admission, discharge and transfer.

As our Patient Care Tech, you will help our patients navigate their hospital stay by assisting them with basic activities of daily living and closely monitoring their physical comfort so they can feel safer, more comfortable, and supported throughout their healing journey.

As our Patient Care Tech, you will help our patients navigate their hospital stay by assisting them with basic activities of daily living and closely monitoring their physical comfort so they can feel safer, more comfortable, and supported throughout their healing journey.

Every day you will diligently manage essential patient care tasks, which includes checking vital signs and changing bed linens. You will be expected to remain highly observant of changes in a patient's condition, maintain a proactive workflow, and collaborate closely with the nursing team to ensure high-quality care.

To be successful in this role, you must possess a genuine desire to help others feel better, accept feedback and coaching well, and demonstrate a strong eagerness to continuously learn and grow as a care provider.

Job Requirements
Required
  • Documentation of successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training program or EMT program, or completion of first block of nursing program or Two (2) years experience as an NA in an acute care hospital setting
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certificate
  • AZ CNA License or Emergency Medical Technician: AZ (EMT:AZ)
