Job summary

Dignity Health – Yavapai Regional Medical Center (DH-YRMC) is seeking a Paramedic Tech to provide immediate medical attention and support in emergency situations, stabilizing patients for further care. You will assess needs, administer medications, run tests, and collaborate with a team of medical professionals.

You will work on a fast-paced team, requiring strong communication, problem-solving, and composure under pressure.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Arizona Certified Emergency Paramedic.
• AHA Basic Life Support for Provider.
• AHA ACLS within six months.
• AHA PALS within six months.
• Direct patient care experience preferred.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) preferred.
• NREMT-P (Paramedic) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and provide direct patient care under supervision.
• Obtain specimens, perform EKGs and blood glucose monitoring.
• Support discharge planning to reduce length of stay and communicate discharge info.
• Assist physicians and nurses with diagnostic tests and clinical procedures.
• Communicate patient needs and changes in condition to care team.
• Document all interactions in patient medical records.

Job description

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Paramedic Tech, you will help our patients in emergency situations by providing immediate medical attention and support to stabilize their condition so they can receive proper medical care.

Every day, you will be responsible for assessing patients' medical needs, administering medications, performing diagnostic tests, and providing emergency medical care. You will be expected to work in a fast-paced environment, respond quickly to emergencies, and collaborate with other medical professionals to deliver the best possible care to our patients.

To be successful in this role, you must have excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations. You should have a good understanding of medical equipment and procedures, and a drive to continually improve your skills and knowledge.

• Assists patients with activities of daily living and provides direct patient care under oversight of EMS medical director or designee
• Obtains specimens, including non-invasive body fluids and blood specimens. Performs EKGs and blood glucose monitoring
• Monitors and performs actions to decrease patient length of stay including but not limited to: performing timely designated discharge duties, and communicating discharge information to appropriate staff
• Assists Physician/Nurse with diagnostic tests, clinical procedures, and other tasks as requested
• Communicates patient needs and observed/reported changes in patient condition to supervising Nurse or Physician
• Documents all interactions in patient's medical record

Scheduled shifts and training will be at Prescott and Prescott Valley Campuses
