Job Title: Patient Care Technician at UPMC

Join our team as a Full-Time Patient Care Technician in our Rehab Unit. We are seeking dedicated individuals passionate about making a difference in patients' lives.

Scheduling: Rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Opportunities: Career ladder from Nursing Assistant to Patient Care Technician - Lead. Starting pay rate of $18.40/hour for Nursing Assistants, based on experience and qualifications.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist with activities of daily living, basic patient care, point-of-care testing, vital signs, telemetry monitoring, specimen collection.
• Perform advanced skills like phlebotomy, IV removal, and EKGs, depending on department needs.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one of the following:
• One year of healthcare experience.
• Six months as UPMC Nursing Assistant/CNA with PCT competency within 120 days.
• Enrollment in a nursing program with at least one clinical rotation.
• Bachelor's degree in health sciences.

Nursing students or EMT experience preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

• CPR required within 30 days of hire, based on AHA standards.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification.
• Clearances: Act 31, 33, 34, 73, with renewal as needed.
