Job summary

Baptist Health System, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support the examination and treatment of patients under supervision. Duties include checking in patients, recording vital signs, reconciling medications, and maintaining smooth patient flow.

The PCT will work with the physician or APN, communicate respectfully, and uphold Baptist Health's mission and values. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and BLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills, especially navigating databases containing confidential information.
• Basic Life Support within 90 days of hire.
• Orientation/externship and training upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Check in patients and obtain vital signs.
• Perform medication reconciliation and collect patient medical history.
• Expedite patient flow, room patients and stock clinic with supplies.
• Navigate the EPIC electronic health record system and document appropriately.
• Perform other non-clinical duties as needed.

Job Summary:

The Patient Care Technician will be responsible for the examination and treatment of patients under the direct supervision of the physician or advanced practice clinician.

Duties include but not limited to the following: check in patients, obtaining vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, pulse oximetry, temperature) and medication reconciliation, patient medical history information, expediting patient flow, rooming patients, stocking clinic with supplies, navigating electronic health record system (EPIC), and performing other non-clinical duties as needed.

The PCT will communicate in a respectful manner and will uphold Baptist’s mission and core values that drive service excellence.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating within databases containing highly confidential information.

• Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate, within 90 days of hire.

• Upon hire these disciplines will be required to attend orientation| externship and additional training as needed.
