Patient Care Technician (Finance)



Under the day-to-day direction of the on-duty nurse practitioner/physician assistant, the primary role of the Patient Care Technician (PCT) is to optimize patient flow through the clinic while delivering an excellent patient experience. The PCT is responsible for performing administrative tasks, including electronic health record (EHR) documentation, in line with company policies. The role also involves demonstrating the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent administrative, communication, and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Excellent customer service and task management skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in retail, customer service, or healthcare
  • Knowledge of infection control practices
  • Ability to maintain a safe, survey-ready healthcare environment per accreditation standards
  • Greeting patients and visitors professionally

  • Managing patient flow and registration efficiently
  • Verifying patient identity and insurance information
  • Handling payments and documentation in the EHR
  • Assisting with patient intake, vital signs, and history collection
  • Providing guidance to waiting patients and managing communication
  • Answering phones and managing patient callbacks
  • Participating in off-site events and supply management
  • Traveling between clinics if designated as a float
  • Assisting providers with specimen collection and lab reporting as qualified
  • Performing essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
