Job summary

Qualified candidates possess a high school diploma and one of CNA/CMA/EMT credentials or are nursing students with clinical experience; BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• CNA, CMA, EMT or nursing student with one semester of clinical completed are acceptable.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs and recording intake and output.
• Assists patients with personal care and activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating).
• Reports abnormal findings or changes to nursing staff.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Demonstrates flexibility and multi-tasking; works under stress.
• Prioritizes unit work with critical thinking.
• Acts as liaison between patient care units and other departments.
• Answer calls via telephone/intercom/call lights and communicate with staff/family/patients.
• Manages overall unit workflow with charge RN/assistant manager as needed.
• Performs pre-census and validates daily admissions, discharges, and census lists.
