Trinity Health Ann Arbor is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT), CNA or MA to join Short Stay. Under the guidance of a registered nurse, the PCT provides direct patient care, supports age-specific, developmental and cultural needs, and helps maintain a clean, safe, and compassionate patient/family environment.
Shifts available include 6:30am-3:00pm, 2:30pm-11:00pm, 10:30pm-7:00am, 7:00pm-7:00am, and 7:00am-7:00am.

They assist in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe and conducive to patient/family wellbeing including concepts of relationship-based care.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / LICENSURE High school diploma or GED Minimum of one year of previous direct care experience (acute or long term) or successful completion of CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course. Student nurses must have completed their nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program.
What you will do: Training is provided to prepare our colleagues for success. The PCT assists patient in completing ADLs including: Bathing, showering, toileting, positioning, turning, transferring, ambulation using assistive devices and with feeding and menu selection. A PCT will collects and send specimens including blood and blood cultures and inserts and removes peripheral IV catheters. They are responsible to record patient information and required data in appropriate areas in order to meet documentation requirements.
Short Stay has 43 rooms (22 bays and 21 private rooms with door and bathroom) Short Stay unit usually has adult patients greater than 18 years old and treats post-surgical and post procedural patient. Length of stay can vary, post op patients are 24-48 hours; mix of observation and inpatient status patients so some pts can stay up to a week or so..
