Job summary

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) at MUSC reports to the Nurse Manager and works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse to perform multi-skilled activities that support a decentralized, patient-centered approach to care and achieve desired outcomes. Hours are 36 per week with 3 rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays, in a regular, hourly position under MUHA/MUSC CHS.

Candidate must meet PCT I/II training and BLS requirements and may pursue nursing/healthcare field

Qualifications

• PCT I requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• PCT II requires HS diploma/GED and one of: degree, work experience, nursing school enrollment, healthcare field enrollment, CNA or CMA certification.

Responsibilities

• Support decentralized patient-centered care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Perform multi-skilled activities to assist with patient care and achieve desired outcomes.

Patient Care Technician I: High School Diploma or equivalent

Patient Care Technician II: HS Diploma/GED + one of the listed criteria
