Job summary

Avera Milbank Area Hospital is seeking a dedicated Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) to provide routine patient care in a multidisciplinary team. The role involves ambulating patients, assisting with daily activities, and coordinating with nurses and physicians to ensure quality care.

Responsibilities include greeting and guiding patients, handling communications, assisting with meals and mobility, and supporting clerical and diagnostic procedures as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work the hours specified and perform each essential job function with basic patient care tasks.
• High school diploma or GED required; CNA certification preferred by Licensing Board.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe, direct patient care: ambulating, bathing, checking diet information in the system, delivering meals and attending to needs.
• Greet patients and visitors, answer inquiries, relay messages, assist with gifts, flowers, and mail; run errands for department staff.
• Ambulate patients, assist with transfers, measure intake and output, collect specimens if needed.
• Answer phones, operate paging system, and assist with emergencies by directing traffic and coordinating care.
• Prepare requisitions for diagnostic and therapeutic services and coordinate appointments with departments.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and related forms; request chaplain and social services as directed.
