Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System seeks a Patient Care Technician in the Stepdown department to support patient care delivery under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

Ideal candidates are prepared with Florida licensure (CNA/EMT) or nursing student eligibility for CNA, and possess basic computer/application skills. BLS/CPR certification is required. The position is on site in Florida.

Qualifications

• Active Florida CNA/EMT or equivalent license, or eligibility as nursing student for CNA exam.
• Nursing students must be enrolled in or graduated from an accredited school of Nursing (RN/LPN) and cannot be licensed in the U.S. as RN/LPN; if enrolled, have completed first semester of clinical for ASN/BSN or first trimester for LPN.
• Certification: Florida CNA program completion and obtaining Florida CNA license within 120 days of graduation.

Job Summary

The Patient Care Technician performs tasks supportive to delivery of patient care in assigned departments under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

Required Qualifications

• Require one of the following: 1.) Florida licensure as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic, or a military Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic Specialist, or Aerospace Medical Service Specialist; or National licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); which must be maintained active during employment; or2.) Nursing students who are eligible for CNA exam are required to: a.) currently be enrolled in or a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (RN/LPN); b.) if enrolled, have completed the first semester of clinical for ASN/BSN degree or completion of first trimester for LPN; and c.) cannot be currently licensed in the U.S. as a RN or LPN; or3.) Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification: Provide certification of successful completion of a Florida State Board approved program and successfully obtain a Florida CNA license within 120 days of graduation.
