Job summary

Community Hospital Corporation is recruiting for a patient care aide to support Registered Nurses in a busy clinical setting. The role involves direct patient care, daily living assistance such as bathing and hygiene, and help with bed management and mobility.

Training will cover pre- and post-operative care and the use of standard medical equipment. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma and current BLS certification; one year in healthcare is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform direct patient care under supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Assist patients with bathing, eating, hygiene and changing bed linens.
• Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs.
• Aid physicians and nursing staff with procedures within the scope of practice.
• Provide general nursing care such as positioning, lifting and turning patients, and assisting with bedpan/urinal/commode.
• Assist in pre-operative and post-operative care and use of medical appliances.

Job description

Performs various direct patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Assist patients with living skills bathing, eating, hygiene, changing bed linens. Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens, gathers vital signs . Aids physicians and nursing staff members with procedures within the scope of practice. You will also provide general nursing care such as positioning patients; lifting and turning patients; applying/utilizing special equipment; assisting in use of bedpan, urinal or commode; ambulating the patient; pre-operative and post-operative care; and application of appliances, taking blood pressure and document appropriately.

Qualifications: Highschool diploma. One year in healthcare preferred. Current BLS. Experience working in an acute care environment or, critical care experience preferred.
