Job summary

Texas Health Frisco is hiring a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the Surgical unit. Work location is Frisco, TX, with three 12-hour day shifts per week and weekend/holiday coverage. No prior experience required; various pathways to eligibility and strong teamwork are emphasized.

The role focuses on direct patient care, data collection, and collaboration with nurses. Training programs and BCLS certification support growth in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent Required.
• No experience required.
• PCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, accredited community college program or THR approved program. Not required to maintain certification after hire.
• EMT - Emergency Medical Technician Military experience with medical training equivalent ( EMT-B ) Upon Hire Required.
• Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program Upon Hire Required.
• 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification. Upon Hire Required And
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required.
• Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to patient according to plan of care.
• Collects patient data, identifies and reports significant findings to nurse.
• Assists in admission/transfer/discharge.
• Provides and Revises patient activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences.
• Performs technical procedures safely and proficiently.
• Takes action to reduce or eliminate patient risk.
• Enters orders into computer or manual system if applicable.
• Documents accurately and appropriately.
• In collaboration with the nurse, adapts care to reflect patient population.
• In collaboration with nurse, incorporates cultural/religious needs and beliefs into delivery of care.
• Keeps patient environment clean and maintains safe environment.
• Anticipates patient/family and visitor needs and takes action to meet those needs and rounds as appropriate

Work hours: Full-time Day shifts (7A-7P)

• Three 12-hour day shifts per week for 36 hours per week, with weekend and holiday requirements

Here’s What You Need
