Texas Health Resources in Plano, TX is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for Ambulatory Surgery. This PRN role supports nursing care, patient safety, and daily living activities, with a 10am-6pm schedule and first-week orientation.

As a PCT you will collect patient data, assist with admissions/transfers, and document care. Requirements include a high school diploma, PCT training or equivalent, BCLS, and strong communication in a fast-paced setting. On-site benefits apply.

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• PCT Training Program TX CNA/NHA/NAHP/NCCT or THR approved program required or to be obtained on hire.
• EMT or equivalent military medical training required or Nursing student with fundamentals coursework acceptable.
• BCLS certification required prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong communication and organizational skills.

Work hours: PRN/As needed, Variable Day shifts (10am-6pm)

Orientation/Training: Must be able to attend orientation/training Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm during the first week of hire

Here’s What You Need

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required
• PCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, accredited community college program or a THR approved program. Not required to maintain certification when applicable after hire. Upon Hire Required Or
• EMT - Emergency Medical Technician Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) Upon Hire Required Or
• Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program Upon Hire Required Or
• 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification. Upon Hire Required And
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
• Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and strong communicator, good verbal and written communication skills.
• Nursing Students who do not complete courses of study in nursing but have completed their Fundamentals Training and EMTs who do not formally retain their EMT status may continue in role if they have consistently demonstrated skills in their PCT position.

What You Will Do

CARE OF PATIENT/TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Provides assistance to patient according to plan of care.
• Collects patient data, identifies and reports significant findings to nurse.
• Assists in admission/transfer/discharge.
• Provides and Revises patient activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences.
• Performs technical procedures safely and proficiently.
• Takes action to reduce or eliminate patient risk.
• Enters orders into computer or manual system if applicable.
• Documents accurately and appropriately.
• In collaboration/consultation with the nurse, adapts care to reflect patient population.
• In collaboration/consultation with nurse, incorporates cultural/religious needs and beliefs into delivery of care.
• Keeps patient environment clean and maintains safe environment.
• Anticipates patient/family and visitor needs and takes action to meet those needs and rounds as appropriate
