Job summary

Ardent Health Services in Amarillo, TX is seeking a day-shift, full-time Surgery (OR) Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nursing staff and provide hands-on patient care in a surgical setting.

You will assist patients with daily activities, monitor vital signs, and help prepare reports for nursing staff. A high school education is required; BLS and PCT/CNA certification are preferred or to be obtained within designated timeframes.

Qualifications

• Must have completed some high school education.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Preferred: High School Diploma or GED Equivalency.
• Certification as a PCT (Certified Care Technician) or CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant).

Responsibilities

• Works in an entry-level position providing basic patient care under nursing supervision.
• Assists patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observes patients' progress to prepare and disseminate reports to the Nurse.
• Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
