Norman Regional Health System is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant to join our Medical unit. You will provide basic patient care, assist in maintaining a safe, clean environment, take vital signs, and relay information to the patient’s nurse.

The role includes clerical receptionist support and coordinating duties as needed. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and CNA certification or six months of recent CNA experience.

• Current CNA certification or nursing student clinical experience is acceptable.

Departmental Overview

Our Medical team provides medical/surgical care to adult populations with a wide variety of complex medical conditions. We focus our efforts on restoring optimal physical and mental well-being in each unique situation with a constant goal of maintaining a safe and supportive environment for our patients. Our unit consists of 16 med/surg tele beds and provides post-op colorectal surgical care.

Compensation / Benefits

• $14.29-$23.34/hr. based on previous work experience
• Evening differential $1.50/hr.
• Night differential $1.75/hr.
• Weekend differential $1.75/hr.

Job Summary

• Provides basic patient care
• Assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment
• Takes and records vital sign (VS) data and relays to patient's nurse
• Provides general nursing care and routine treatment /procedures
• Facilitates processing of patients
• Provides clerical receptionist support
• Provides Coordinating Support
• Performs additional duties related to the specific needs of the department

Qualifications

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent GED.
• Certification as a nursing assistant or 6 months of recent experience as a nursing assistant

Experience

• Six (6) months of recent experience as a nursing assistant
• Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant or one clinical semester of nursing school or successful completion of an acute care nurse aide course; or six (6) months previous experience in a healthcare position can be substituted for the experience

Licensure/Certification

• Basic Life Support *(BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained through re-training for duration of employment
• Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
