Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking a Nursing Assistant for our Surgical Unit. The role involves providing basic patient care, maintaining a safe environment, and recording vital signs for nurse coordination.

You will support nursing staff and assist with administrative tasks to ensure smooth unit operations. The position requires a High School diploma or GED, CNA certification or 6 months CNA experience, and current BLS certification.

Compensation / Benefits

• $14.29-$23.34/hr. depending on previous work experience
• Evening differential $1.50/hr.
• Night differential $1.75/hr.
• Weekend differential $1.75/hr.

Departmental Overview

The ideal candidate for our Surgical Unit thrives in fast-paced environment, has a strong willingness to learn, understands how to deliver safe and effective & compassionate clinical care along side a team. Our unit has thirty two beds. We take care of patients with both surgical and nonsurgical conditions, we care for patients through the nursing process of assessment planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Furthermore, our team nurses & patient care techs collaborate with other healthcare professionals for best possible treatment of our patients.

Job Summary

• Provides basic patient care

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent GED
• Certification as a nursing assistant or 6 months of recent experience as a nursing assistant

Experience

• Six (6) months of recent experience as a nursing assistant
• Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant or one clinical semester of nursing school or successful completion of an acute care nurse aide course; or six (6) months previous experience in a healthcare position can be substituted for the experience

Licensure/Certification

• Basic Life Support *(BLS) training or re‑training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained through re‑training for duration of employment
• Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
