Job summary

Lovelace Health System in Roswell, NM is seeking a night-shift PRN Medical‑Surgical Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide essential patient care under nursing supervision.

You will assist with daily activities, observe patient progress, record vital signs, collect specimens for lab tests, and help with transport and housekeeping on a busy unit.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Preferred: Phlebotomy experience or completion of a Phlebotomy course.
• Preferred: Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Preferred: 1 year of experience in acute or long-term care.
• Working toward CNA, PCT, or EMT-P certification.

Responsibilities

• Works in an entry-level position providing basic patient care under the direction of nursing and medical staff.
• Assists patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observed patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered nurses or other medical staff.
• Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
• Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
