Job summary

BSA Hospital in Amarillo, TX is seeking a day-shift, full-time Intermediate Care - Stepdown (IMC) Patient Care Technician (PCT). The role provides essential bedside support under nursing supervision, assisting with daily activities and monitoring patients.

The ideal candidate has completed some high school and holds BLS certification with willingness to obtain PCT or CNA credentials. Training ensures you can contribute to patient progress and relay reports to the nurse.

Qualifications

• Completed some high school education.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Preferred: High School Diploma or GED Equivalency.
• Completion of High School PCT competencies.
• Certification as a PCT (Certified Care Technician) or CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant).

Responsibilities

• Works in an entry-level position providing basic patient care under nursing supervision.
• Assists patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observes patients' progress to prepare and disseminate reports to the Nurse.
• Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
