Job summary

Premier Health Partners is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Atrium Medical Center Float Pool. The role covers the 7:00 pm to 7:00 am shift, full-time, 36 hours per week, with 72 hours per pay period.

As part of the care team, you will assist nurses with vitals, patient mobility, hygiene, and daily activities while reporting patient changes and maintaining documentation as required.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills and data entry familiarity.
• Organizational and communication abilities are essential.

The PCT works under the supervision of the nurse, which means the nurse makes sure they are doing things safely and correctly. Qualifications

Education

You'll need a high school diploma or GED.

Training

You'll need to get a BLS CPR certificate. If you don’t already have it, they can teach you how to do CPR at your orientation, too (so you don't need to do it beforehand).

Experience

Successful completion of one of the following:

• Completion of previous STNA or CNA training or Patient Care Technician/Assistant training.
• Direct patient care experience within the last five years: Performing fundamental skills of vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) & direct patient care activities ie. Bathing, turning/positioning, toileting
• Currently enrolled in nursing school and have completed at least one clinical rotation.

*Special Consideration: If the candidate has previous direct patient care experience, they may be excused from fundamental training (BCOP) upon completion of successful skills validation. This is in lieu of the above requirements. *
