Job summary

Piedmont Medical Network - Fort Mill Hospital is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide compassionate patient care under the supervision of the nursing staff. You will assist with activities of daily living, measure and record vital signs, and ensure a safe and comfortable patient environment across age groups.

This role may involve clerical duties, unit coordination, and potential float to other comparable nursing units.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of CNA course required.
  • CNA certification must be active or attained within 6 months of employment.
  • BLS CPR certification required within 7 days of hire.
  • CPI required within orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately checks patient’s blood sugar and documents results as ordered.
  • Obtains vital signs appropriately and reports abnormal findings promptly.
  • Performs patient interventions within scope of practice and age-specific competency.
  • Provides care in emergencies and assists with codes or patient falls.
  • Performs related duties and coordinates unit clerical and public relations tasks.

Job Summary

Up to $5,000 Sign-on Bonus Based on Eligibility

Under the direction of the Nurse, performs sub-professional duties including providing patient care to meet the needs of activities of daily living; operation and maintenance of equipment. Takes and records vital signs and I/Os. Assists licensed staff and physicians as directed within approved standards. Performs other related duties as directed. Assumes the responsibility for meeting the basic needs of all patients assigned. Provides care to a patient population ranging from infant to geriatric, unless otherwise indicated. Works collaboratively with the health care team, is customer focused and strives to meet unit and hospital goals. Provides quality care according to established practice standards and guidelines for the area(s) assigned. Must be willing/able to float to other (comparable) nursing units, as requested/needed. Performs and coordinates the clerical and public relations functions for the unit, as well as coordinating patient services and tests provided by the other ancillary hospital departments; acts as unit receptionist receiving and directing visitors. Assumes the responsibility for correctly transcribing orders on all patients assigned. Works collaboratively with the health care team, is customer focused and strives to meet unit and hospital goals. Provides quality work according to established practice standards and guidelines for the area(s) assigned. Must be willing/able to float to other (comparable) nursing units, as requested/needed.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately checks patient’s blood sugar and documents results as ordered (all values are correctly reported to attending nurse)
  • Obtains vital signs appropriately based on patient’s age and condition. Reports abnormal findings immediately to attending or charge nurse
  • Performs patient interventions completely and proficiently within scope of practice and demonstrates age specific competency for population of patients served.
  • Provides appropriate treatment in emergency situations as they arise (i.e. codes, patient falls).
  • Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Completion of CNA course required
  • Experience:
    • Previous work experience in a patient care role can meet education requirement.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • CNA - must be certified within 6 months of employment, and/or completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an accredited Nursing Curriculum with the intention to complete a nursing degree required.
    • American Heart Association BLS CPR certification required, must be obtained within 7 days of hire.
    • CPI required within orientation.
